Bundaberg- March 2019

I was thrilled to be Guest Speaker at a Luncheon to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, a cause close to my heart. Dynamo Flora Evans, had rallied 140 guests to attend this event. This was my opportunity to wear the outfit I had purchased at "Blue Illusion" in Rockhampton.

The Function Room at "Rowers on the River" looked warm and inviting with fairy lights, beautifully decorated tables and a panoramic view across the river. Special Guest Susie McDonald, an LNP Senate candidate was busy meeting and greeting the guests. I was thrilled that our son, Anthony, and his wife Shelley were present.I was able to share my experiences with the RFDS whilst living at McAllister, and why this institution is important to me and people living in remote areas of Australia. The audience was engaged and interested and I was thrilled to have a long line of people wishing to purchase my book, "Back of Beyond", following my presentation.

My 'Marketing Manager" Rick, was busy taking money while I signed books and answered questions. We sold every book we had on hand. A great result, especially as $5 per book sold was donated to the RFDS, a total of $200.

We returned to the home of Flora and Philip Evans for a weekend of laughs, great food and company.Cyclone "Oma" was making her presence felt as the winds battered the foreshore where we were staying at Elliott Heads. We were pleased we had made the decision to leave "Priscilla", our caravan, safely parked at Gladstone. Until next time......
