BIGGER CROWDS

I am loving the country people we are meeting at the Libraries in the country towns on our itinerary. The Librarians are extremely welcoming and excited to have me with them. The numbers are increasing as people ring ahead to their friends and family, urging them to attend. I have found the local media very supportive with newspaper coverage and the local ABC interview has been widely heard.

As a result we have had a packed house in Narrabri and Quirindi, with excellent book sales. Both Libraries have a long waiting list for the book. Rick and I find this very rewarding and encouraging as we invest in this extensive Author Tour. I remain quite overwhelmed by the interest in my story, especially as I meet so many women who have had similar experiences in different areas of our vast country. The hospitable Libraries have all served delicious morning tea, which allows for a relaxed time to chat and get to know the locals. It has been an inspiring and interesting time, which we have both thoroughly enjoyed. If only the country was not suffering the worst drought since the 1800’s.

The success of the trip has surpassed our expectations with book sales. At Coonabarabran this morning we sold out of books!! A high class problem, but it has meant a frantic call to my wonderful Publicist Patrizia and her assistant Susie at Allen&Unwin, with an urgent request to send more books EXPRESS to Mudgee and Deniliquin!

I have also had to ask Ocean Reeve to post more audio USB books, as we are low on supply!

My marketing manager (Rick) and I are very happy with our results and the adventure which accompanies our travels. Our little motor home is ‘tight’, but we remain ‘cosy’ in the cold weather! Our marriage remains on amicable terms and I’m eternally grateful to Rick who has spent a lot of time planning the itinerary.

Nine presentations down, twenty one to go and two private events!!!!!
